Likewise, the vast majority of traffic accidents are caused by drunk drivers, which causes enormous emotional and material damage to families.<\/li><li>Statistics show that 60% of hospitalized patients suffer from illnesses related to excessive alcohol consumption.<\/li><li>The disease of alcoholism can often be identified by professionals through family members or close friends.<\/li><\/ul><p>The health professional, being able to detect the problem, help and guide, often refers their patients to Al-Anon Family Groups as further support in recovery, recognizing them as a resource available in the community for all those who identify as family members or friends of alcoholics.<\/p><p>Many members report that they have been told and advised by health professionals to attend Al-Anon Family Group meetings.<\/p><p>Statistics show that, on the other hand, 47% of Al-Anon Family Group members seek professional counseling after attending meetings.<\/p><p>Al-Anon Family Groups, through their members, are available to hold meetings in Public Institutions (hospitals and treatment centers and others) and Private Institutions (companies and others) to publicize the Al-Anon Family Association and share their experience as family members of alcoholic patients.<\/p><p>The Association's office has leaflets with information aimed at health professionals and
