Reflections
What People says about Al-Anon
Growing up with an alcoholic father left its mark on me throughout my adulthood. I often feel guilty when things around me don't go as expected, and I often try to fix everything and anything even when it's not my responsibility. I also tend to magnify my mistakes and failures as if I were not allowed to fail. The desire to achieve an unattainable perfection has always been with me. Today, in recovery at Al-Anon, I realize that there are many behaviors that need to be addressed in me, which are the result of growing up with the disease of alcoholism. I feel that the program is for my entire life, because, in addition to everything I need to improve, the program helps me in all my activities to gradually become a better person.

Al-Anon Declaration of Unity.
To find a meeting, simply open the MEETINGS page and filter by region. There you will find the day, time and address. You can also join one of our online meetings, the link is also available.
There are no dues for membership. Al-Anon is self-supporting solely through the voluntary contributions of its own members, refusing outside contributions. It is the voluntary contributions of each member that support our Groups, Areas, Office, and Literature.
The Al-Anon Family Group Association is not anonymous. But its members are, and everything said in a group meeting or from member to member must be kept confidential. Only in this way can we feel free to say what is on our minds and hearts. This is how we help each other in Al-Anon. That is why in Al-Anon meetings around the world we find a card displayed: “What you see here, what you hear here, when you leave, leave it here.”
Al-Anon began in New York in 1951, founded by Lois Wilson, wife of Alcoholics Anonymous co-founder Bill Wilson. Following the path of AA from the beginning, using its principles and adapting its structure, Al-Anon now has a presence in more than 131 countries, helping thousands of people whose lives have been affected by someone else's drinking.
